Your notes, in Claude too.

With the Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI assistants such as Claude can work with your notes and tasks in Memendo. You create a personal token for it and can revoke it at any time.

How to set it up

  1. Create a token

    Open the web app and go to Settings → Connections. Choose Create token, give it a name such as “Claude Desktop” and copy it. The token is shown only this once.

  2. Add it to Claude Code

    In the terminal it takes one command. Replace the placeholder with your token:

    Terminal
    claude mcp add --transport http memendo https://app.memendo.co/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"
  3. Or add it to Claude Desktop

    In Claude Desktop, open Settings, then Developer → Edit Config, and add the entry to claude_desktop_config.json. Claude Desktop connects through the helper mcp-remote, which needs Node.js installed. Restart Claude Desktop afterwards.

    claude_desktop_config.json
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "memendo": {
          "command": "npx",
          "args": [
            "-y",
            "mcp-remote",
            "https://app.memendo.co/api/mcp",
            "--header",
            "Authorization:${MEMENDO_AUTH}"
          ],
          "env": {
            "MEMENDO_AUTH": "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN"
          }
        }
      }
    }
  4. Ask

    Ask Claude, for example: “Which tasks are due this week?” or “Create a note with the points from this conversation.” Claude asks before it uses a tool for the first time.

Server URL: https://app.memendo.co/api/mcp

Other MCP clients that support Streamable HTTP with a bearer token connect the same way: the server URL plus the header Authorization: Bearer <token>.

What Claude can do with Memendo

The connection gives Claude nine tools:

  • search_notessearch your notes by title, text, folder and tag
  • get_noteread a note, with its folder and a link into the app
  • create_notecreate a note, in a given folder if you like
  • append_to_noteadd text to the end of a note without changing the rest
  • list_folderslist your folders and subfolders
  • list_projectslist your projects
  • list_taskslist open tasks, ordered as in the app
  • create_taskcreate a task with a day, deadline, priority and project
  • complete_tasktick off a task; a repeating task gets its next occurrence

Security and limits

  • Anyone who has your token can read and change your notes and tasks. Don’t share it, and revoke it when you no longer need it: in the web app under Settings → Connections → Revoke. Access ends immediately.
  • You can have up to 10 tokens at once, for example one per device. Each token allows up to 60 requests a minute.
  • Notes that Claude creates count towards the same limits as in the app.
  • What Claude reads goes to Anthropic, the provider of Claude, under your own agreement with Anthropic.

Frequently asked questions

Does the connection cost anything?

No. MCP is included in every Memendo plan. Claude itself is subject to the terms of your Claude plan.

Does it work with other assistants?

Yes, with any MCP client that allows an HTTP connection with its own Authorization header. The setup is tested with Claude Code and Claude Desktop.

Claude says “invalid token”. What now?

Check that the whole token was copied (it starts with memendo_) and that it is still active. A revoked token stops working; create a new one.
